Today’s speaker is our very own Mike Clifford. Mike is a principal at Lindsay Pope Brayfield Clifford and Associates and will be speaking about the firm’s 40th anniversary.

Buck Lindsay graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1968. While in school, he worked part-time with architectural firms in Atlanta. Following his graduation, Buck worked as a civilian with the Corps of Engineers in Savannah, Georgia. He then joined the U.S. Army and served three years with the Corps of Engineers in Germany, and was discharged at the rank of Captain in 1972. In Atlanta, Buck continued apprenticeship with two architectural firms, until founding Winford Lindsay Assocates in June of 1975. During the early years the firm specialized in residential, small commercial and small municipal facilities. A chance project w/ Days Inn gave Buck the chance he needed and soon he was the national architect for the chain. As the reputation of the firm became established we progressed to larger commercial and municipal projects. Today, Lindsay Pope Brayfield Clifford & Assoc., Inc. offers Architectural, Interiors and Engineering services and have now completed over 450 educational projects and 350 hotel projects. Buck Lindsay takes care of hotels, Becky Pope leads our school team, Mike Clifford does design and Greg Brayfield engineering.

An active community member, Buck has held key leadership positions in Rotary International, Red Cross, the YMCA, Boy Scouts, the Humane Society, Gwinnett Technical Institute and the Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Service (Chairman 1998). He is a member of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects.

Buck lives in Lawrenceville w/ his wife Cindy. They have two sons. Trey is an architect living in New York and works for internationally known firm SOM. Ryan lives in Atlanta and has followed in Buck’s entrepreneurial footsteps w/ his own
