2016 Rotary Oyster Roast
03/02/2016 @ 4:00 am - 6:00 pm
$202016 Rotary Oyster Roast, held the first cold, rainy Wednesday in March.
Gwinnett Rotary Club wants to invite all Gwinnett Rotarians and their guests to the 37th Annual Oyster Roast set for March 2, 2016 in Duluth at the late Wild Wally Odum’s Party Shack. The home is just west of Bill Heard Funeral Home at 3088 Highway 120, in Duluth. Come enjoy one of the best events of our Rotary year, and join the fellowship!
The price is $20 a person for Gwinnett Rotary members. However…..we want you there!
We offer this invitation to members of other Gwinnett Rotary Clubs as a social outing, to get to know one another better, and of course, to down some oysters. Let me encourage you attend, and to get other of your members out among us to enjoy the oysters, and the good company, too!
The menu remains the same as it ever is: Oysters, roasted, raw and in stew. Plus drinks.
We’re getting this to your club now so that you will have time to (1) promote this as a fun-filled, all-Gwinnett Rotary activity; and (2) get lots of people signed up in advance.
We ask you to give us a count on attendees by February 25. Tell us the number attending so we can order the oysters. At your club meetings, send around a list a couple of meetings and have people sign up.
Show up and enjoy the Rotary fellowship! Bring along oyster knives if you have one, and gloves to wear when opening the oysters. We’ll have a limited number of gloves and knives if anyone doesn’t come with them.
Come to Duluth at 4 p.m. Yes, we’ll have Rolling Rock again. Be sure to get there on time: toward 5-6 p.m. often the oysters are all eaten!
Mainly, come and enjoy this outing (no matter what the weather) for all Rotarians in Gwinnett, this the 38th year. You’ll enjoy the fellowship, the oysters….and we hope you enjoy the weather, too. By the way, the Party Shack is roofed, so don’t bother with wet weather gear.
We appreciate your help of this best Rotary event of the year for all Gwinnett Rotarians.
