District Governor Bruce Azevedo has been twice President of the Madison County Rotary Club, once in 2004 and again in 2009.

He served as Assistant Governor, District Foundation Grants Service Chair, and District Global Grants Coordinator.

Bruce is a Major donor, Paul Harris Society member, and recipient of The Rotary Foundation Citation for Meritorious Service Award, a sustaining Will Watt Fellow member and RLI graduate.

Bruce is a retired Navy Supply Chief Warrant Officer (CW03) who served in both Viet Nam and the Gulf War’s Desert Storm.

He and his wife Pam have two sons and two daughters all of which are military veterans; and have 10 grandchildren.

Community involvement has always been important to him. A few years after retiring from the military he started community involvement by joining the Madison County Rotary Club in 1999.  Bruce has been Chairman of his local Chamber of Commerce twice, appointment by the last two Georgia Governor’s to the Upper Savannah-Upper Ogeechee State Water Council, Chairman of the Madison County Industrial Development and Building Authority (IDA) for the last 15 years.

Bruce was an Electoral College Elector for the 2016 Presidential election.

He is an active member of Winterville First Baptist Church, served as the fellowship chairman, substitute Sunday school teacher, and member of Gideon International.
