David Freeman: Polio Plus
06/30/2014 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
I am giving this talk as our Polio Plus Chair Person. My goal is to increase awareness of Rotary’s worldwide efforts to eradicate polio. In doing so, I believe that since Polio has been virtually eliminated in America for decades, much of our population is unaware of just how terrible this disease really is and even more unaware of its history both in America and worldwide.
Georgia has played a role in researching cures for and treating this disease. In addition to this talk, I am organizing a trip to Warm Springs, GA on Saturday, July 26, 2014, for anyone who might wish to tour the facilities there. I plan to send out an email to all our members shortly promoting this visit.
