District Governor

Bill was born and raised in Cartersville, Georgia. He is a graduate of Cartersville High School. He continued his education and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Economics. He started his career in the Lighting Business with E. Sam Jones Distributing. He found an interest in the finance business and joined the Bartow Financial Center. Bill went on to join the family business of property management. He is now the majority owner of WSF Properties LLC.
Bill joined the Rotary Club of Bartow County in 1995. He has served in the following positions: 1997-1999 Community Service Chair; President
Elect 1999-2000; President 2000-2001; 2001-2004 District Chair of Community Service; 2001-2002 he was the Governor’s Special Representative to start the Rotary Club of Etowah; 2003-2004 District Membership Chair and Co-Chair for Club Extensions; 2004-2007 he was an Assistant Governor; 2007-2011 Major Gifts & Permanent Fund Chair; 2010-2012 District Training Advisor; 2011-2012 Club Extensions Chair and 2007-2013 he served his second three year term as a GRSP Trustee.
Bill holds many honors/fellowships too. He was honored by his club in 2002 with the “Avenues of Service Citation”. He is a Major Donor, Paul Harris Society, Benefactor and Bequest Society member. He is a Will Watt, Hue Thomas Jr, and a Kendall Weisiger Fellow in the Georgia Rotary Student Program. In 2011 he was presented with The Rotary Foundation District Service Award.
Bill was first touched by Rotary when he joined Boy Scout Troop 24, which was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Cartersville. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with three palms and God and Country. He realized his passion for volunteering during his scouting career and continues to volunteer in his community. He was the driver for the Principality of Liechtenstein Olympic Team while in Atlanta and he started volunteering with the Atlanta Track Club working the Thanksgiving Day Marathon and Half Marathon. He has been working the Thanksgiving Day Marathon for the last 24 years. He was asked to join the Atlanta Track Club Committee for the Thanksgiving Half Marathon and then the Atlanta Marathon Committee. In 2013, he was selected as Road Race Volunteer of the Year for the Atlanta Track Club. If you run the Peachtree Road Race, you might see him in Piedmont Park supervising the security.
Bill has also been active in his community. He joined the Smyrna Housing Authority in 2002 and has since become the Vice- Chairman. He is also on the Downtown Development Task Force. He is very proud that he has given over 10 gallons of blood to the American Red Cross.
