Rachael Warnsley: Outreach Manager for Gwinnett Police Department

Rachael is a servant leader who spends most of her professional and personal time advocating and supporting children and families in need.  She started her nonprofit career at a Florida foundation working on youth leadership training, publication management, and fundraising. Six years ago, she moved from Tampa, Florida to Lawrenceville, GA and served as the Senior Director of Development and Gwinnett County Engagement at United Way of Greater Atlanta before her most recent appointment as the first civilian to serve as the Community Affairs Outreach Manager for Gwinnett County Police Department.

Rachael was specially selected to join the Community Affairs Section because of her long history of leadership and her ability to build genuine relationships that translate to positive community change.  She was recognized by Brookwood High School as the 2020 Upstander Citizen of the Year– upstanders combat injustice, promote goodwill and galvanize peers into action.  Rachael is a 2018 graduate of Leadership Gwinnett; Sugarloaf Rotary member; serves on the boards of United Way of Greater Atlanta in Gwinnett, ReCast Advisory Board with the City of Lawrenceville; and mentor in Gwinnett County Schools Community Mentoring Program.  Rachael earned her bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Baruch College as a National Urban Fellow. She currently lives in Lawrenceville with her husband and two strong, smart, and bold daughters.  Rachael enjoys live music, water sports, traveling abroad, and watching the #1 most dominant college sports programs-Florida Gators!

Gwinnett County Police Community Affairs Section

  • The mission is to expand on the department’s long-time commitment to the community by strengthening positive relationships and trust through police-community communication, interaction, transparency, and mutual respect.
  • Focus on Community Outreach Programs and Crime Prevention
  • Community Outreach Programs include Citizens Police Academy for adults and Youth Police Academy and Explorers Program for youth and young adults
  • Crime Prevention Programs include our COPS communities (Neighborhood Watch); personal safety programs like Rape Aggression and Defense for young women 13+; Security surveys for home and business; and Crime Free Multi-Housing to deter illegal activity in our apartment communities.
