Raye Varney Bio:

Raye Varney is the Executive Director for ArtWorks Gwinnett, an independent nonprofit which exists to promote and strengthen the arts across Gwinnett County. She has over 20 years of experience in arts administration in metro Atlanta, including stints as the Managing Director for Theatre in the Square and for 7 Stages and as the Marketing Director for Georgia Shakespeare and Georgia State’s Rialto Center for the Performing Arts.

She currently sits on ARC’s Arts & Culture Committee, and is a 2013 alumna of ARC’s Regional Leadership Institute. She is a 2009 alumna of Leadership Cobb and a 2004 graduate of the Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders in the Arts, at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. She holds a B.A. from Wake Forest University. Raye and her husband and two daughters live in Tucker, where she serves as lay leader for the First United Methodist Church and on the School Council for Chamblee Middle School.
