Sarah (Say) Spencer: Building Families Program

The Building Families Program is an intensive in-home program that builds on the existing strengths of families in order to reduce the stressors interfering with healthy family functioning. Say is trained and ready to serve families from all walks of life that struggle with behavior problems such as constant arguing & bickering, fighting at school, throwing temper tantrums, disrespecting authority and getting into legal skirmishes. Say graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Social Work degree and from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC with a Master of Social Work. She has also completed one year toward a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. Sarah has worked at The Children’s Home in Baltimore, Maryland where she was a Social Worker at a girl’s cottage, as a School Social Worker in Baltimore, Maryland, and as a Service Coordinator for the Multiple Sclerosis Society where she created and implemented an experiential six week program for children who lived with an adult with Multiple Sclerosis. For the last 14 years Say has worked with Hospice and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta AFLAC Cancer Center as a Social Worker providing education, support, and counseling to families. She is married, the mother of three children and resides in Decatur.
