With a goal to spread the news about the history of Warms Springs, GA and the effort there to treat polio patients, The Rotary Club of Lawrenceville is organizing a visit to Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation and a tour of the Little White House on Saturday, July 26, 2014.  We plan to tour the Institute in the morning then take a lunch break and tour The Little White House in the afternoon.  Warm Springs is located only about a 2-hour drive southwest of Atlanta.  It is the home of:

• The Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation (Roosevelt’s Former Polio Hospital)
• The “ Little White House” where Franklin D. Roosevelt lived while president of the US.
• It is also only about 20 minutes drive from the famous Calloway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA
• Rotary International Tennis Complex – Center for Therapeutic Recreation
• The Ann Henderson Johnson Heritage Center   and the Historic Cottage Campaign
• Home of the Smithsonian National Museum tribute, “ Whatever Happened to Polio”
