Club Meeting: Roseanne & Carol, Rotary Youth Exchange
We will be hearing from Roseanne and Carol about the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the international impact of Rotary and how this life-changing program fosters cultural understanding, leadership, and global connection. We hope you will join us!
Roseanne is a 57 year old single mother from Westland Michigan. She moved to Kennesaw, Georgia in July of 2016 when her office in Dearborn, Michigan closed. She works for United Airlines in the reservation division and has since October 1994. She was a Rotary Exchange student to Santa Cruz, Bolivia in 1986-1987 after graduating from Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan. She studied bilingual education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, but left in her final year for her lifetime airline career. She is the mother of two, Calotta McLean ( 34) and Brian Navarro-McLean ( 18 ). Brian is currently on exchange in Taiwan. She also has two grandchildren, Xander 12 and Adelina, 2. In her free time she loves to travel, go to high school and college basketball games and enjoy international cuisines and cultures.
Carol moved to Atlanta from her native Finger Lakes region of upstate New York in 1998. She has been a special education teacher for 30 years and counting. In her free time she loves to bake and crochet. Carol became interested in Rotary Youth Exchange when she was a member of the Rotary Club of Dunwoody back in 2016. She was a member of the RYE committee when the very first students from Georgia went out on exchange from District 6900. She moved outside of the perimeter to Canton in 2017 and bided her time until she could work on Rotary Youth Exchange in District 6910. She now lives in Woodstock with her husband David and their cat Rosemary.
