Leigh McIntosh: Essential Oils

02/01/2016 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Leigh McIntosh: Leigh McIntosh has spent her career working with people with a variety of disabilities to reach their maximum level of independence. Over the last couple of years, Leigh has become passionate about helping all kinds of people who have an interest in reducing their toxic load and want to focus on health and wellness in a natural way. Through doTerra, which means “gift of the earth”, Leigh has found the highest quality of essential oils and is sharing how these oils, that have been here since creation and were designed to protect plants from disease and predators, can also help us with many of the issues we struggle with each day. Used topically, aromatically and internally, doTerra essential oils can help us as Rotarians be a “gift to the world”.

Co Presenter: Sue Helzerman

doTERRA:

What is an essential oil?

If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. In addition to giving plants their distinctive smells, essential oils protect plants and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health care practices.
