Service Project: Family Promise at Promise Haven (week of October 23)

As a club we have adopted the week of October 23rd to volunteer with Family Promise at Promise Haven. Please read below, review your calendar, and choose a host role you and your family will enjoy and sign up.

Volunteer Hosting Roles Overview:
1. Dinner Host: Provides a hot meal for the families in the program and any volunteers in attendance. Arrives between 6:00-6:30 PM; dinner is served at 6:30 PM. Dinner Hosts may simply drop off the meal or stay and eat with the families and other volunteers. All dinnerware is supplied by Promise Haven. Warming stations may be used to heat up the food, and families serve themselves.
2. Evening Host: 6 PM- 8:30 PM Monday–Friday and 5 PM- 8:30 PM Saturdays and Sundays.Greet guest families at the front door when they arrive between 6-7 PM, greet dinner host and assist them in setting up the meal, assist the families with their cleaning tasks, play with the kids or help with homework, before leaving at 8:30 PM.
3. Overnight Host: 8 PM- 8 AM Fridays and Saturdays. Provides a gift of presence and oversight at Promise Haven.
4. Saturday Day Host: Morning Day Host- 8 AM- 1 PM- Afternoon Day Host- 1 PM- 5 PM. This role gives families the opportunity to stay at Promise Haven during the day to rest, catch up on chores or work, or simply play with their children.

As the week approaches you will receive a document with all of the family information that you need including ages and number of children and adults and any dietary restrictions. You will also receive a back door and gate code.
